Can't Install Win32::Daemon on Server 2003

    Hi Guys,

     I'm running a 32-Bit Win 2003 server that I'm trying to install the Win32::Daemon module onto to allow me to install ASSP (anti-spam for mail server). I'm getting the error message "ppm install failed: the ppd does not provide code to install for this platform"

     To me that says that it won't work on the OS, but I was lead to believe that it should work on 2003. Is this not the case, or is something else amiss?

    Thanks in advance

    Did you ever manage to get win32::daemon installed on the windows 2003 server? I am having trouble doing it.

    Win32::Daemon installs on W2k3 just fine. We have it running on several of these servers. However it depends upon what version of Perl you are running.

    ppm install

    If that fails then come back here and report your perl version number (run perl -v).

    Alternatively you can try running the new beta by manually installing it. Read this thread for details:

    I'm new to pearl but I got the same error .

    in the cmd prompt I've type :

    ppm install

    I've got the error : ppm install failed: the ppd does not provide code to install for this platform.

     I'm using:

    Windows xp build  5.1.2600

    Perl v 5.10.0 build for MSwin-X86-Multi-ThreBad

    Binary Build 1002 [283697] provide by activeState

    Build jan 10 2008 11:00:53

    You can run Win32::Daemon on Perl 5.10, but it is in beta and you need to manually install it.
